The team behind TESSR constantly strives for improvement. Whether it be amending small bugs or implementing new features—they’re always on top of it. Our team’s persistence marks the start of TESSR V2:
"Insights"
Under the motto: "Built to Understand Creatives", this "Insights" feature displays key performance information for each member of a team. It's a powerful tool designed to help team leaders understand their people better, enhancing transparency in their collaborative endeavours.
TESSR's "Insights" consists of three tabs, each containing different aspects of key data.
About Our “People-Centric Leadership” Mindset
We believe that working together starts with understanding and caring for each person involved. When we collaborate, success follows naturally. There's a reason why people say, "work together, dream together." People-centric Leadership is what we based TESSR on.
By understanding a team’s performance, especially on individual levels, leaders will be able to address any unspoken challenges that members may be facing. From there on out, actions would be taken swiftly to maintain the health of a team. With this consistent practice, their work’s progress should keep at a desirable pace.
Individuals should be provided with the same levels of transparency that their supervisors are disclosed to. Full access to the details of their own performance grants them autonomy. Additionally, this provides artists with more opportunities to have proactive discussions with their leaders/managers/supervisors.
Deliver the truth with data to promote integrity. Sugarcoating or toxic positivity can easily be a side effect of people-centric leadership, if not practiced consciously. Therefore, providing a platform where everyone can have access to real-time updated data is important for supporting individuals without compromising critical feedback.
How our “Insights” feature reflects People-centric values
What’s in “Insights”
Tab 1: Assigned scenes
Check people's workload and scene statuses. This tab is split into two main sections: the Treemap and the Scenes list section.
The Treemap allows you to view data in two different categories—by status or by project; the Scenes list section provides the details of assigned scenes—displaying titles, due dates, statuses and assignees.
Tab 2: Charts
1. Deliverables by Due Date
This chart shows scenes and their status based on their due date, with colour-coded bars.
2. Scenes by Completion Date
This chart shows completed scenes based on their completion date. It helps track an individual's rate of productivity.
3. Comments Assigned and Resolved:
Here, it shows the assigned and resolved comments of an individual in order of time.
Tab 3: Assigned comments
We've implemented this shortcut, so managers can check what has or has not been resolved or amended! Simply look through this section from a person's Insights window, instead of endlessly scrolling through multiple scenes to find what you need.
How “Insights” Support People-centric Leaders
To put it broadly, by understanding your team’s workloads, and promoting transparency, you’re able to achieve balance. More specifically, we can look at three key benefits that have an impact on your project management experience: resource allocation, quality assurance and improved collaboration.
When you know how much work each member of your team is undertaking, it is much easier to distribute tasks without overworking the assignee. It is also likelier that an individual with lesser burdens can get newer tasks done quicker. This way, your team won’t burn out, and you can stay on track with a project’s planned timeline, avoid delays and missing deadlines.
Similarly, you can avoid complications in a project by taking measures that ensure requirements are met. How TESSR’s Insights works towards this, is through functions like “assigned comments”, or “completion date” charts. The former ensures that no errors that need amending will be overlooked, while the latter helps gauge a team member’s rate of productivity. Expanding further on how the completion date charts help, when understanding an individual’s speed and skill, you can assign tasks best suited to them.
Ultimately, this transparency can positively impact a team’s collaboration—combined efforts result in better outcomes. At TESSR, we believe that candidness helps build trust. It’s a fundamental factor of achieving effective and healthy communication. This practise ensures a productive and innovative work environment.
