Project management has been an exceedingly essential skill in all kinds of creative projects. The need for structure in an otherwise flexible workflow has become a balance that many are trying to figure out. Hence, project management software rolls in.

However, not all tools are suitable for creative teams.

So, TESSR was created to advocate creative project management as a new normal, so creatives can focus on what they’re passionate about and not the administrative work that comes with projects.

Thus, why would creatives need TESSR over other project management software?

Features and Support in TESSR

  1. Centralised Information and Files

It’s no secret that creative projects juggle all kinds of information and files beyond just the visual drafts that are expected. With the unpredictable nature of creative projects, changes and fixes are bound to happen as the project progresses.

The TESSR app allows creatives to not only delegate their tasks but also to streamline their workflow by bringing daily essential features and information into a single interface through Scene Hub.

Thus, it’s important to have a space where the team can find where all information is gathered when any recent changes happen to prevent miscommunication and misinformation.

  1. Showcase Team’s Roles and Responsibilities

When onboarding a new team member or keeping track of your team’s roles, a list of everyone’s roles will help keep track of who does what. Especially in an animation studio where components like concept art, storyboarding, cleanup and colour artists are needed.

Roles and responsibilities can get confusing if there’s no transparency on who does what, so TESSR’s People tab showcases everyone with their designated roles. This can be accessed by going to the Workspace tab, and a drop-down menu will show People as one of its options.

  1. Trackable Review and Feedback

As a creative, how many times have you lost count of the versions and amendments that you need to do? Especially when not all project management software can give contextual feedback like TESSR’s Review feature.

We have asked other creatives how they conduct their review sessions to find out that not only do they use emails or chat messaging platforms, but miscommunications also tend to happen when reviewers are unable to give more in-depth feedback.

Our Review module not only allows you to directly draw on a design but also to mark video frames. This makes feedback sessions less confusing and easier to track when you need to review them later.

  1. Building Connections and Real Support

The nature of creative work can be isolating. When you are locked in and in the zone of your work, self-isolation tends to happen. That’s why we built TESSR. We help creatives like you stay inspired, feel supported, and be in sync with other like-minded creatives in our communities.

Beyond just streamlining your workflow when everything is in one place, it keeps you connected not just with your creative work but with fellow animators, too.

We tend to overlook this, but when you’re juggling from one platform to another, the mental clutter discourages you from building a connection with your team.

When trust and connection are established, you’ll be surprised to find out that your creativity flows better.

  1. Workload Visibility

TESSR’s Insights gives an overview of the team’s workload, which not only benefits leaders in knowing their team’s capacity, but for creatives, they’ll be able to check their own performance and see their assigned work.

While the fear of micromanagement is valid when such visibility is made available, on the contrary, it actually prevents such things from happening.

  1. Mental Health Reminder

We have a feature in the Home Tab where you are greeted with a reminder to take care of yourself. This might be small compared to our other features, but you’ll be surprised that something as simple as ‘Take a deep breath’ can prompt you to be present and pause for a moment.

Taking a deep breath is a lot more powerful than you think. It helps with both stress and anxiety, giving your nervous system a break from everything. Letting your thoughts be in a supportive community would help with your mental health, too.

  1. Visually Easy to Navigate

If you have heard of intuitive software, user-centric design is something that TESSR is.

At a glance in the app, everything is labelled and direct with what it is. And with a focus on visuals, clutter is minimal in the interface.

For example, in the screenshot below, in our Project Directory section. It is a dedicated space for managing projects (project statuses and deadlines) and controlling team member access.

8. Supportive Customer Service

It is our mission to support creatives as best we can, so be assured that the team behind TESSR will help if you are facing issues with our tool. Plus, if you have suggestions, like new features you have in mind, let us know!

Other than through the website, we have a Facebook group where you can connect with us and other TESSR app users to discuss and provide technical support to one another.

9. Prioritisation Made Easier

There are apps for productivity out there, but not all come with project management. TESSR has a feature called Woohoo, where it calculates the completion of a project based on its prioritisation status.

With this feature, teams would be able to redirect their focus to the priority rather than guessing which task they should prioritise. Plus, it could also help track the progress of the project as each task is weighted in the percentage of the project completion status.

  1. Space That Supports Your Productivity

When you open up the TESSR app, you don’t have to look through what tasks are assigned to you or ask your leader what needs to be done. By eliminating the in-between process of task delegation, My Work is the first thing you will see and start working on.
